We are the highest form of animal because our actions impact the natural world. Every other life form adheres to nature’s programming for it’s species/genome. They strive to survive in the environment they are born in.

Humans are distinguished by their strong sense of self. They will go to great lengths to fulfil their desires, despite and sometimes because of the harm it may cause others.

We have reached a point in our evolution where the negative impact of our self serving actions are being felt globally. The natural system we exist in is interconnected and interdependent. Each part contributes to the whole in a balanced way. Humans are not in balance with each other and our unsustainable lifestyle is causing unpleasant backlashes from nature. Our food and water sources are contaminated; our social systems are broken; climactic extremes are destroying homes and infrastructures; contagious diseases are a new reality.

But we can change that. We can awaken to the core of our problems, which is the reason we are the highest form of animal on the planet, our ego and the illusion that we are alone and must fight to get what we want. We must shift our values to be more aligned with nature. We must change our solitary view to become inclusive of all members of our species.

We are one species of different ethnicities. Our differences should not separate us, rather they should enrich our lives. We are already, on a deep level, connected as a species. We must now act out this bond in our day to day life. We must join with others in meaningful ways to enrich each other’s lives through caring and understanding.

We must come into balance with nature’s laws and instead of competing and depleting we should be cooperating and flourishing.
